DSE | NY
DSE is a noise project by artist David Schafer. Schafer is interested in the attrition of meaning in sound. Focusing on prerecorded, processed, and improvisational electronics, he emphasizes the breakdown and decay of signal, structure, and intelligibility. Other work involves dissonant, glitchy, and shrill tone manipulation. DSE has performed at the Whitney Museum in conjunction with the 2010 Biennial, Mildred’s Lane, and has collaborated with the MeKaniKdolls as MDSE at Mildred’s Lane, Sonikfest, and Sitefest in Bushwick.

Chelsea Rector | Riverside, CA
Chelsea Rector is an artist experimenting with photography, video and installation, sound, speech, and writing. Preoccupied by paranormal events, Chelsea trusts that matter and mind are the same. For the evocation of presence, her artworks form and deform simple gestures or impulses as explicators of psycho-physical states that often proliferate in and around emotional, theoretical, and occult scientific subjects.

Pedestrian Deposit | Los Angeles, CA
The work of Jonathan Borges and Shannon Kennedy of Pedestrian Deposit could be described as highly composed, often abstract sound textures combined to create dynamic experimental music that draws on the duo’s widely contrasting auditory obsessions. Borges’ use of crude electronics, tape loops, field recordings, and controlled feedback, contrasts against Shannon’s use of stringed instruments, bowing techniques and amplified metal and wood, resulting in music that is both raw and refined. Pedestrian Deposit bears elements of electro-acoustic sound, musique concrete, classical, and harsh noise, but cannot be confined to any one genre.
